The Perfect Backup Drive, February 14, 2012 By This review is from: Clickfree Automatic Backup C2 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive 1027B3 (Piano Black) (Personal Computers) So I bought this drive for college, hoping it wouldn't crap out like all of these Seagates and WD's I've heard so much about. I just want to say, this is NOTHING like using a WD drive. It is purely for backup and restoring files. It's not drag and drop in Windows Explorer; you just plug it in and it goes automatically (there's also an option for it to not go right away-it gives you 30 seconds to choose). One feature I love is that it lets you copy your music straight off of your iPod or iPhone without jumping through the hoops of hidden folders and masked names. It copies them straight over and in artist files like you would expect. It's very user friendly, and I have not experienced any hardware issues (after about 8 months now). I love this drive!

It took a bit to set it up, because I wanted it to save a lot of very large directories, but once it copied all that stuff, the updates are very quick. I keep it plugged in, and once or a few times a day (not sure how it decides, but it has settings I could use to specify a time if I wanted. It must be on random or something now.), it will pop up and copy and changes. When I check its directories, everything seems to be there. My computer makes me grant permission if I'm sitting here, but doesn't seem to require that if the computer is dormant. I wish it would just go without me having to click ok, but that's an issue with my computer, not the backup drive. I like the capacity, and the fact that it runs on its own, without me having to remember to backup (because I wouldn't). It's quiet, but starts to vibrate once in a while. It usually stops if I touch it or move it. The real test will be if it keeps going for a bunch of years... Read more
