After reviewing comments, reviews, and info regarding Intel's newest Sandy Bridge Chipset, I decided on a P67 processor and the corresponding Intel P67 motherboard. Corsair Vengeance DDR3 memory, a Cooler Master Haf-X case, Cooler Master Silent Pro 1200 Watt power supply, Intel 160 GB SSD for the OS (Windows 7 Ultimate), DVD burner, Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler, and two EVGA GTX 580 Graphics cards, in SLI, completed the setup. As luck would have it, I placed the order just prior to the infamous recall of the Sandy Bridge Chipset by Intel. Everything arrived in a timely fashion except for the motherboard, which was now delayed, with no real projected date of delivery. While waiting to see how Intel would handle the recall, I decided to research other motherboard manufacturers, which, of course, were all affected by the recall. After several weeks of research and waiting, I... Read more

The board is an overclocker's paradise but also allows for a one button overclock for those just starting out. Using the one mouse click overclock I took my i7 2600k from 3.4 to 4.6 GHz in about two minutes. There are more settings and adjustments than you can shake a stick at, Hit the Asus forums for threads on how the experts at Asus recommend tweaking this board up. There are plenty of fan headers to help move all the overclocking heat you can generate away. The LED digital display can be a lifesaver when a board won't boot up - if as example your RAM chips aren't fully seated you'll see that in a two digit code that is looked up in the included manual. The dual BIOS chips are another lifesaver, if you push the limits and lock your board up you can simply boot to the other BIOS chip and quickly recover. The GUI based BIOS setup is a bit unstable for me with the menu's difficult to control using my Microsoft laser mouse and... Read more
